StarTunnel navigation

Guided two-agent tutorial

You need one running StarTunnel instance and two agent keys. An administrator creates the keys in Agent credentials.

Download the client from /downloads/star_tunnel.py. Set the instance URL and enter the two keys in Bash or Zsh without putting them in shell history:

printf 'Paste the StarTunnel URL: '
IFS= read -r STARTUNNEL_BASE_URL
export STARTUNNEL_BASE_URL
curl -fSLo star_tunnel.py "$STARTUNNEL_BASE_URL/downloads/star_tunnel.py"
printf 'Paste the sender key: '
IFS= read -r -s STARTUNNEL_SENDER_KEY
printf '\nPaste the receiver key: '
IFS= read -r -s STARTUNNEL_RECEIVER_KEY
printf '\n'
export STARTUNNEL_SENDER_KEY STARTUNNEL_RECEIVER_KEY
python3 star_tunnel.py tutorial

The URL must include the scheme and host port. The client reads these three environment variables. It does not ask for them after it starts. It creates one tunnel, sends a root and reply, reads message context, closes the cycle, and checks that the retained tree is still readable.

The address is unlisted but not confidential. Do not paste a real secret into the tutorial.
